Airline pilots make surprisingly good wine. Their appreciation of the sciences, a respect for the weather and a bird's eye view of the land, all invaluable to the winemaker's art. John Ellis would take every opportune weekend away from his regular New York Paris route, to pursue a passion for viticulture. He planted the first commercial Cabernet Merlot vines in the Hamptons and found time between trans atlantic flights to work vintages amongst the Grand Cru vineyards of La Bourgogne. A bequest of Jack Daniels most precious Tennessee Whiskeys have been assembled into a priceless edition commemorating Sinatra's centenary. Each individually numbered bottle of Sinatra Century is sealed in an exquisite midnight blue lacquered case, containing a hardbound tribute book, a replica of Frank's tie clip and a never before released, complete live performance recording of Frank at his best, onstage at the Sands Hotel Casino in 1966.
Deep orange amber hues. Oak nose, pleasant smokiness, sweetened by subtle honey characters and caramelized tropical fruit notes. As layered as Frank's voice, spiced jaffas in support of complex soft smoke characters, coconut and citrus fruit, lingering charred barrel spice.
