	A blend of old and new Shiraz vines up to 120 years of age sourced from the Barossa Valley floor, have been masterfully crafted into a classic example of honest, traditional Australian Shiraz. Langmeil obtains much of its fruit from old, prephylloxera and own root vineyards throughout the region, in order to guarantee the quality and consistency of its wines. Ripe, rich plummy and dark cherry fruit with earthy tones and hints of spice, it displays fine toasty oak tannins achieving a medium to full bodied wine with an exquisite soft dry finish Barossa
	Each $24.99 Dozen $299.88	Minimally irrigated vineyards with exceptional soils and aspects have yielded batches of superlative old vine Shiraz which reflect the character of each unique microclimate. Winemaker Paul Lindner has practised traditional techniques with obsolete equipment to unlock and exploit the full potential of the captured fruit flavours, triumphing in a powerful fruit driven red that exhibits subtle complexity and individual vineyard characteristics. Balanced by new and prior use French and American oak, framed by superb tannins, the palate lingers long with baking spices and vanilla/coconut oak characters. With minimal handling and filtration, the quality of the flavours in the finished wine have been maximized. Approx 14.3%
	Deep red colour. Juicy, aromas of dark plums, berries and cherries are backed by sweet vanilla and cedar/chocolate oak plus undertones of cloves and cinnamon. The sweet jammy and peppery perfume leads to a scrumptuous palate of mulberries, cassis and plums. Long, smooth and polished, there's a deep expression of pristine complexity, the thick and respectable flavours finish with length and brightness, and follow through with lingering blueberry-like undertones framed by fine, smooth tannins. The Langmeil winemakers searched the Barossa for ancient and sometimes, neglected old Shiraz vines. Still grown on their original roots which came from pre-phylloxera Europe and South Africa, these exceptional old vines yield some of the rarest wines in the world. Small volumes of the Old Vine Company Shiraz have been crafted from the finest fruit with the best, though not necessarily the most modern equipment. Only vineyards planted at least 100 years ago were assembled to craft this truly exceptional wine from the outstanding 2003 vintage

Langmeil’s original vineyard The Freedom was planted in 1843 and survives to this day. A museum piece and a standout example of Australia's most arcane fruit. Aged two years in mostly new French oak, unfined and unfiltered, masterfully assembled from precious plots of gnarled old Barossa vines.
