	Tyrrell’s have strayed from their Hunter Valley roots to isolate a superlative site at Willunga, nestled at the heart of McLaren Vale. It features a block of thirty-five year old Shiraz vines that consistently produce outstanding fruit. Rufus Stone remains a prolific award winner, it is endowed with great finesse and displays ripe, fruit driven Shiraz flavours. 	Each $16.99 Dozen $203.88	Tyrrell is inextricably linked to the story of wine in Australia. The estate's Rufus Stone vineyard in the Mclaren Vale yields intensely flavoured Shiraz grapes with deep colours and a firm natural acidity. The fruit is always clean, in good health, and well ripened. Grapes are harvested and crushed at the Willunga vineyard before being moved to the Glenbawn winery via refrigerated tankers. Inoculated and vinified in a combination of open vats and potter tanks with a component of the wine finishing primary ferment in barrels. Following fermentation the wine is transported to the Pokolbin winery for maturation in predominately newer American and French oak barriques for eighteen months before bottling. Alcohol 14.0%
	Dense red colour with bright purple hues. The aromas are of ripe and rich shiraz fruit with a sweet vanillin lift from the oak. Strawberry and chocolate exudes, ripe berry fruits with a touch of spicy pepper. On the palate, the wine shows restrained power, the fruit being the dominant character and the oak with tannin structure adding to the palate without overpowering. Full bodied with smooth supple tannins and a long finish, reminiscent of cocoa on a savoury edge.
